Aimee Arrow Baskets

I have finally put this basket to use! I wasn't sure what I was going to use it for. At first I thought I'd use it for the baby's toys, but then I needed a place to put our living room throws, so I went with throw storage. I think I will buy another one for the toys as well, because it is so big and looks much better than the toy by we currently have.

This is the Aimee Arrow, World Market basket in large. Right now it has four throws in it, and one on top! Two medium sized ones and two kid throws, with the cream pom pom throw laying on top.

If you're looking for a nice large basket, look no more! This one is perfect!

$200 Nook Chandelier Update

Pin for later!

Since we replaced our dining room chandelier, next up was our nook light. I kept going back and forth between the one we bought and a beaded chandelier. I ended up going with the crystal light because it matches our dining room one and goes with our overall theme better.

I found our light at Overstock, and never thought I'd buy the chandeliers sight unseen, but after looking at the review pictures and reading the reviews, I felt comfortable with purchasing it.

We got it hung and then I added all 271 crystals on. Once I got them all on, I was so pleased! I sat and looked at it for so long. Ha!

It’s a wonderful upgrade from what we had before, and didn’t break the bank!

Ugly before light

The chandelier is a Potterybarn styled fixture, but at such an affordable price.
Pottery Barn version

We got ours on sale for just under $150!
I highly recommend this light if you’re looking for a budget friendly PB version or a fixture that is this style. You won’t be disappointed for $150.

The last fixture will be the entry light, but I still need to research what style we would like to get. If you have any recommendations on what style would go well with the crystal chandeliers we have, I’d love to hear them in the comments.

For now, I will enjoy sitting in our nook, because it looks so much better than before!

For more information on this chandelier, it can be found here at Overstock.

One ingredient yogurt melts

I've been seeing yogurt melts all over Pinterest and wanted to give it a go. It looked easy and I know the kids would love the melts.

I had some yogurt on hand, so the kids and I took to it... and they loved the melts! I saw where some people strained the yogurt in cheesecloth for an hour, or added other ingredients, but we tried to make it as easy as possible.

This is what we did:

 Get your favorite yogurt.
Using Greek yogurt will give the melts that sour flavor that the Greek yogurt has. If your kids don't like Greek yogurt, go with the regular yogurt.

Line a baking sheet with wax paper. I had to cut ours to size.

Spoon some of your yogurt into a sandwich bag.

Once you have your yogurt in the bag, cut off the tip on one corner.

It will look like this.

Then squeeze all the yogurt to that corner.

Squeeze out some yogurt onto your lined baking sheet. You can make these as big or small as you want. We made ours for older kids, so they weren't that small. If I was going to make some for the baby, I'd make them much smaller.

Viola! Now place them in the freezer.

We let them sit for an hour, and they were ready!

Take them out of the freezer, and peel them off of the wax paper. You can immediately place them into another sandwich freezer bag, place them back into the freezer to save them for later. But the kids wanted to eat them, so ours were gone within minutes!

Now enjoy!

Pin for later!

These were so easy to make and the kids loved them! They are a great little snack that doesn't take much time or cleanup! Win-win. I hope you enjoyed this and let me know if you end up making some too! I'd love to hear what type of yogurt you used and what your little ones thought of them.

Restoration Hardware Dupe Chandelier

As soon as we moved into our home, I knew we would need to replace all the original light fixtures. They were all brass and very outdated. Since we are working with a budget, I had to be smart with how much I was going to spend on each light.

The hunt was on, and of course the light I loved the most was a Restoration Hardware fixture.

Price: $1,895

I ended up finding a fixture that looks very similar for the fraction of the cost!

Gallery Lighting | 19th Rococo Iron & Crystal Chandelier

This fixture is mady by Gallery Lighting and sold on Overstock, Wayfair and a few other sites. We ended up buying ours from Overstock and we used a coupon to get the light for just over $500, shipped!

It is not an exact replica, but it looks very similar and is beautiful! Especially for the price.

One difference is the size. This one is 31 inches, while the RH light is 33 inches. This also has cheaper connectors than the RH one:

It also is black and not that deep bronze color that you see on the RH light. This worked perfect for us, since we have black accents around the house.

The Gallery Lighting light will need to be put together and wired. All the crystals will need to be hung, and it looks intimidating, but it was really easy fr me to put it together. You can also have your electrician put it together if you don't want to mess with it.

I am so happy with how it looks and even with the difference from the RH light I would buy it again in a heartbeat!

Image to pin and save for later

Don't they look similar?! I think so. I bought the bulbs off Amazon, and we were all set!

Next we need to have our walls painted and a few other things... but for now, we got rid of that outdated fixture for a price that I can live with!

Potterybarn look-a-like couches

New couches!

I really wanted these couches from Potterybarn, but they come with a price tag that doesn't fit our budget, so I found these amazing dupe couches from Macy's!

(Potterybarn Buchanan Roll Arm Upholstered Sofa vs Macy's Astra sofa)

The sofa from Potterybarn is 93.5 inches, while the sofa from Macy's is 91 inches. We have had them for about a month now and love them so much! Wait for them to go on sale, and you can get the sofa for $629. They constantly go on and off sale, so just keep checking when they are regular priced. I watched them and it seemed like they went on sale on the weekends!
The Astra couches are at a price that we can love too. Now all I need are some pillows!

Nook makeover

Hi all!

It’s been a long time since I have been on here. Life has been busy, yet great. We recently purchased our first home and have been trying to remodel and get some new furniture in here. I miss blogging, and thought I’d start again and post about our projects and updates. It’s a way for us to document and look back at what we have done and how we accomplished each project!

We had to replace our nook table, and although I wanted one from RH, he budget wouldn’t allow it. But I found this table from Pier1 and bought it when they were having a sale! I hadn’t seen it in person and wasn’t sure what the color was going to look like, but it is so perfect!

We paired it with these chairs from World Market and I love how they go together.

We still need to add some blinds and curtains, but that will come!

DIY Easy RH Inspired Console Table

I was on the hunt for a console table that would fit this wall.  All of the tables that I liked were wider than the wall, or outside of...
